Vision of the First

I once walked on this land
To feel the enormity of Heaven
From the home of my ancestors
Is to touch mothers heart beneath my feet
As the people yearn for compassion
Restraints are lost in the wind
As hostility is imposed on the people’s birth rights
While the infusion of times constraints
Remains as a burden of fate
We feel the flow of time
The energy of eternity
As they try to stop our silent prayers
Will the ancients allow us a seat at heavens dawn
And allow us the peace and clarity we seek
Now is the time for the sound of our drums to flow on these timeless winds
Grandfather we seek wisdom and vision from the First
For the people on the “Standing Rock”
