In the shade of a Manzanita Bush
She thought about the brave
He had asked her father
Offered his dowry
But she wasn't sure
Her father was wise
He would wait
For the signal
But still she doubted
The brave was tall
He'd proved himself
But she wasn't sure
She gave a start
When a butterfly
Landed on the bush
Its eyes devoured her
His eyes
And she was suddenly sure
