I Hear The Beat of The Drum

I hear the beat of the drum
As the tribes gather on familiar ground
We no longer look as we once were
Still trying to hold precious what we know

I hear the beat of the drum
Will we learn to live in this new time
Can we still be the great people we are

I hear the beat of the drum
We will help our children to live here
Talking in ways we are not sure
What can we give them that they will want
What is it that our children need

I hear the beat of the drum
Can we speak to the little one
Do we remember what to say

I still hear the beat of the drum
