The Sundance Horse

The Creator gave our People a precious gift, long ago we called it..."The Sacred Dog"
The most sacred thing that Mother Earth could ever hold.

"The Sundance Horse"

It served our People well, and was and still is faithful.
It took the People far, where we wanted to go.
Never complained, but did as it was told.

"The Sundance Horse"

This great sacred Dog also carried our children, again without complaint, but with the greatest love and tenderness.

"The Sundance Horse"

Our home it did transport for the People, through plain and valleys. Taking our People to where the
mighty Buffalo were plenty. It rode fast like lighting to help the warrior that sat upon it's back.
So that one great swift of the arrow from the bow, could bring down the mighty sacred humped beast. To feed the People, and clothe them, this is how our ancesters lived and survived.

"The Sundance Horse"

This sacred Dog was everything to the People, because it helped them to live and continue on the generations. Even now that things have changed, and we have no longer need of it as our People once did. The People now still love and honor, respect the beautiful gift the Creator gave the People so many years ago.

"The Sundance Horse"

The Creator gave the People so many beautiful colored sacred Dogs, when he sent them down to Mother Earth from the sky. But you can see for yourself today the many colors... "Oh a most beautiful gift from the Creator."

"The Sundance Horse"

Our People here once a year honor this great sacred Dog. We talk ever so softly to it, adorn it with colored cloth
Approached it with the greatest of reverence. We sing sacred songs for this mighty sacred Dog.
Somtimes our elders will cry and remember all that this sacred Dog has done for us and the People of long ago.

"The Sundance Horse"

Our People will always continue to honor and respect this sacred Dog, till Mother Earth is no more!
The sacred Dog is our brother, grandmother to our children, a faithful companion. So much it has done for the People. We will never forget what it has done for us through good times, and bad.

"The Sundance Horse"

"Humans, of all walks of life, if you have a sacred Dog, please honor, love, and respect this sacred Dog well." It was a gift from the mighty Creator.
